NeuroMovement

Deeply Moved:
NeuroMovement is a gentle approach using touch and movement to give the brain new information. With this fresh input, the brain can change and improve how we function, helping us become more organized for action and more free in our bodies.
Developed by Anat Baniel, the method is also widely known as the Anat Baniel Method / NeuroMovement. Its effectiveness comes from applying the Nine Essentials during movement lessons. Simply moving isn't enough to create lasting positive change. In fact, research shows that moving on autopilot can actually reinforce patterns of pain or limitation.

When we bring attention to what we feel as we move, we provide the brain with valuable information that it immediately uses for growth and development. This is the first Essential, called Movement with Attention.

I discovered this method when my son, Mees, was ten years old. After trying so many therapies that didn't bring results, I was ready to stop searching—until this specific modality was brought to my attention.

After our first intensive in California with Anat Baniel and her team of practitioners, my son looked me straight in the eyes (whereas before his eyes would always wander). I was deeply moved by this outcome, and a year later I began professional training to become an ABM / NeuroMovement practitioner myself.

In 2016, I opened my own practice in the Netherlands and traveled to many countries to work with children with special needs. Recently, I closed my practice in the Netherlands but continue to travel abroad for intensives with children and their families.

The work of NeuroMovement doesn't just give the children relief and new opportunities for growth and development—it empowers and uplifts the entire family. Parents and relatives learn to see their children in a new light and gain a more truthful perspective on life.
